Youth Sailing Courses
Our Youth Sailing programmes are designed to introduce young people to sailing in a fun, safe, and supportive environment. Led by qualified instructors, these courses help build confidence on the water while teaching essential sailing skills, teamwork, and water safety — all while having a great time.
Whether your child is brand new to sailing or ready to build on existing skills, our RYA youth courses offer a brilliant starting point and a clear pathway for progression.
Youth RYA Start Sailing – Level 1
The RYA Start Sailing Level 1 course is the perfect introduction to sailing for young people. Over the course, participants will learn basic boat handling, essential safety skills, and sailing terminology — all through hands-on activities and fun sessions on the water.
Ideal for: Young people with little or no sailing experience.
Youth RYA Basic Skills – Level 2
The RYA Basic Skills Level 2 course builds on the foundations learned in Level 1. Young sailors will develop more confidence and independence, learning how to sail a boat in different directions, improve boat control, and work effectively as part of a crew.
Ideal for: Young people who have completed Level 1 or have some prior sailing experience.
